Bankruptcy Collections Specialist

The Position, Full-Time, Non-Commission
The primary responsibilities of a Bankruptcy Collections Specialist will be to assist the Accounts Receivable department by processing bankruptcy cases and creating legal correspondence in a timely and efficient manner. Qualified candidates will have a background in processing high volume documentation and tracking/managing a bankruptcy portfolio. Having an in-depth understanding of financial products will help you succeed in this role.
Hours M – F, 8am - 5pm
Process bankruptcy cases; compose legal correspondence and communication between the Legal Department and Accounts Receivable Department
Research and analyze contract/bankruptcy issues, provide recommended solutions and/or process adjustments as appropriate
Respond to department specific questions in a timely and accurate manner
Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school
One to Three years’ of bankruptcy experience required
Previous customer service or administrative experience required; financial industry experience preferred
Understanding of Federal Bankruptcy Code
In-depth experience with legal processes as well as full range of financial products
Experience handling sensitive documents in a timely and accurate manner
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important
Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision in a structured environment
Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
