Job Description

Reporting to the COO,
this opportunity leads our team of HR Business Professionals and works closely
with affiliate executives and their leadership teams to drive and enable business
outcomes through the development of and execution of our people
priorities.  This role leverages and
integrates all the pertinent expertise and capabilities of the Human Resources
function including Benefits Planning, Employee Relations, Talent Acquisition,
Budgeting and Organizational Design. The SVP, Human Resources functions as a
senior advisor managing 
inter-disciplinary matters and leads our team of HR professionals  in serving as trusted advisors and advocates
to employees and leaders alike in providing solutions to complex issues and

This Leader will also be charged with strengthening the
senior leadership team of each function by providing coaching and counsel to
executives to further develop their leadership capability and capacity.

Essential Duties

The ideal candidate will
have experiences showcasing a history of both leading and strengthening teams
of HR Business Partners while partnering closely with senior executives and
leadership teams – all focused on designing and enabling organizations to
successfully deliver against goals and objectives.

 Additionally, the right candidate must have:

Significant depth and
passion in Employee Relations, Recruiting, Benefits, Facilitation and Executive


Critical knowledge of
multiple HR disciplines including but not limited to talent acquisition,
employee relations, talent management, and federal and state employment laws.

Ability to thrive and
execute with minimal structure in a fast-pace and at times ambiguous

Strong managerial
courage, creative problem solving skills and independent thinking a must.

Financial services
experience strongly preferred and remote management experience highly

The application of
strong business acumen and the executional know-how of building  strong relationships and providing quality
service  to the Corporate and field

Grow, lead and motivate
HR professionals focused on identifying, developing and delivering HR
strategies and programs aligned to business goals while articulating a
practical vision for change as well as the ROI for people initiatives.

Act as a strategic
conduit communicating business needs to the HR team members, influencing
program development, design and delivery with employee relations initiatives,
benefits programs, recruiting efforts and performance management initiatives.

Informing and educating
the field about Human Resources policies, procedures, performance management,
recruitment, and employee relations matters.

Conveying local state
and federal laws to the field to maintain compliance.

Management for overall
capital and expense budgeting for HR.

Required Competencies

Business acumen:  Experience in developing a strong and deep
understanding of the business groups' main goals and challenges then guiding
the HR team in developing or applying solutions to achieve strong results.

HR and Legal acumen:
Experience should include processes, systems, precedence and best practices.
Assess issues in the context of an organization’s processes, structures and
capabilities to develop holistic responses.

Business consulting:
Coach, mentor and advise where appropriate to help people grow and develop in
alignment with business and personal goals.

Analytical capabilities:
Ability to see the total picture and draw accurate conclusions from data and
determine appropriate interventions to address business challenges.

Stakeholder management:
Excellent contracting and stakeholder management skills with an ability to
collaborate across management levels.  
Solid experience and a comfort level necessary working with senior
management and Executive levels.

Communication: Strong
interpersonal communications skills, showcasing ability to influence at all
levels and the ability to encourage evolution.

Proven leadership skills and experience in positioning executives to make
thoughtful decisions about the organizations goals, and properly allocating people
resources to achieve those directives.

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources
Management, Business Administration, or equivalent experience, with a high preference
for an advanced degree in Human Resources Management.


17+ years of overall HR experience in
roles of progressively increasing in scope and responsibility, including at
least 10 years leading teams of HR professionals.   Strategic experience of at least 7 years in
a high profile, strategic HR role with heavy executive-level interaction and a
high degree of executive influence is essential.  

Crucial experience is a background spanning
both Corporate HR and Field HR functions.
